i mean it's hard to clearly define a stereotype so it's my own version. you're obv a hardcore bernie guy, but there's a certain dickish to downright cultish characteristic i see in the people i consider bernie bros. some other people on this board fit that mold. you i'd just consider a staunch supporter.

as for people "coming around" i think it's probably wishful thinking on your part, man. Americans have BEEN good with socialism as long as it's called something else.

i was listening to a podcast recently with this columbia professor/former UN advisor who was also a bernie supporter.

his take was that Bernie makes a political miscalculation by even calling it democratic socialism, because socialism is such a loaded word. And that even though it's pure semantics, calling it Social democracy could have gone a long way, his theory being that it would make it easier to point to countries like Denmark or Norway where most of the economy is still private but higher tax revenue is collected for public services, but that with the word "Socialism" too many americans are hard wired to associate it with Venezuela or the soviet union, or whatever their worst example might be.
