wife was in a fender bender. Not at fault.
Police said they would wait to see if we could work it out without insurance so it wouldn’t hurt our resale value.
The girls mom said she would pay because she doesn’t want insurance to go up. My wife gave her 6 weeks to pay it off. Black woman, 2 kids in college.
Wife got a text from her mom: Can I pay you in installments of this amount? I’m dealing with insurance over my roof and blah blah blah.. God will find a way!
As soon as she added God we knew she was lying. Told my wife to give her a few days and then move on her ass.
How you gonna ask if you can send money to someone you owe?

Generally speaking, anything that indicates that someone is attempting to play on my heart strings or looks like an obvious story, and it's usually a hard pass from me.
That goes for everyone from the dude on the street with the overly detailed story behind why he needs ten bucks for gas, to the salespeople trying to build a rapport through some commonality.
All of that's a quick path to me shutting down completely.

and she still trying to get my wife on the phone so she can run game and beg.

Just pay what you owe and we’ll drop the claim but no more talking or promising.
