I'm not in a position to decide for him whether if he should chose another profession or not. What I do know is that being a black journalist, particularly an independent/freelance black journalist isn't easy. I have F&Fs who grind hard at that kind of work and I hear it all the time at how they're never taken seriously by A list celebrities and musicians. It's not an easy job and I commend them for making their faces present at what's considered as whites only press pools.

Unlike the Grammys which only credentialed 5 or so black media outlets, the BET Awards credentials dozens of black outlets.
