I had to go play a few tracks of Tricky's first album Maxinquaye which lead to a quick rabbit hole into Tricky's life

BECAUSE

I remembered, "wait up, wasn't Maxinquaye named after his mom who committed suicide when he was a kid?"

YUP.

Then I remembered, "didnt he and Martina Bird have a baby?"

YUP.

So reading through the wiki section I see "Tricky is a father to two daughters. The musician Martina Topley-Bird, who was discovered by Tricky while she was sitting on a wall near his Bristol home, was the mother of one, Mina Mazy (19 March 1995 – 8 May 2019)"

UH.


Then I looked up Mina Mazy to see...that she committed suicide last year.

DAMN.


That is fucking heavy shit. As a dad that shit breaks my heart that my kid could suffer in things I can not fix in ways I cannot help. I can't even imagine what all of that was like for Tricky and Martina.
