One day on the phone, she tries to get me to get down 5-lynx, and I simply told her that my field (IT) has plenty of well-paying jobs with room for growth, and I'll stick with what I've spent 20+ years learning.

This jawn then tells me "Okay, well, go ahead and enjoy your mediocre life."

The gall yo. Really pissed me off, but in hindsight that was one of those life-changing moments. Already down in life (breakup) and you gonna go kick me? Slowly stopped taking any shit from anyone after that moment.
