We would lose somewhere upwards of 5 million jobs if healthcare and college became free.
Then you have to take into account the effect that has on housing once people can't pay their mortgages.
Just think how much equity people would lose in their homes once an influx of newly high risk homeowners hit the market. Prices would have to go down for inventory to be moved.
We would be fucked for decades.
