I’m not able to listen to the album yet. His last project didn’t feel thorough and I don’t remember anything on it that compelled me to listen again.

Still, I’m always hopeful for any artist who’s put out high quality work before and I can even stand some “unfinished” work because creativity doesn’t always arrive by the dictates of the market.

His politics are troubling, to say the least, but I don’t expect to gain political insight from any pop star.

I'm a fan of his music, full stop, including Ye which I enjoyed but really found it to be a deeply uncomfortable/dark album to listen to - it was like a critically acclaimed yet very unsettling movie you that shakes you to your core that you would never want to see again.

with current Kanye albums I approach the album from the top and play each track in 30 second chunks where I jump around the track to get a sense of the music.

I scanned each track, heard nothing that resonated with me and largely forgot about it.

Honestly, I think it's too much work to get into his headspace to appreciate the art and its not an investment I want to make right now, maybe in a few weeks or down the road. Right now I prefer music that hits me immediately. I'm not afraid of working for an album but not for this current version of Kanye.
