and in retrospect, I think for a while, he was making FUN of those winga-dinga "wish it were still Grease" type folks with his act on some meta shit. He played a character called "Dice" on some TV show, I can't recall, and then just took that character to the stage.
the funniest shit Dice ever did was when he abandoned the act for one show and just bullshitted for the entire set until everyone walked out. That was his album THE DAY THE LAUGHTER DIED. one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
people also miss the part where Carlin says "he would defend him for the right to do what he does" whilst also criticizing his content in a way that seems oh-so-relevant today. in particular, highlighting the fact that "Dice" was actually Jewish and that Jewish people are generally on "the list" of people targeted by the (then, proto-)MAGA types who lap this shit up. shit has gotten even more blatant now (shout out to PooPooPie)
also, people reposting that clip ought to post the OG poster on Twitter's entire thread of Carlin clips. Carlin says a lot that has been echoing in my head for the last few years on repeat. but alt-centrist types would be mad at him saying:

what you cited doesnt even break down gender or economics.
im not sure why anyone would think the trans community would be majority minority to begin with. but all you did was prove that its more diverse than most people think and certainly not overwhelmingly white.
