It might even help in getting the medicine into the bloodstream quicker.
Walgreens always tried to up-sell the added flavoring when I picked up antibiotics for the kids. The regular flavor is already sweet enough and tastes like bubble gum.

my son had a baseball game tonight. It ended at 9:30. We got home at 10. he had a box of juice and cupcake which were both team snacks on the way home. He slept like a baby, right away.
