Then ask you to give it to them before bedtime
Concentrated sugar and feel better meds right before sleep.
Hour four and she’s just coming off her high
13347666, yeah...unfortunately the sweet sensing taste buds are the most sensitive
Posted by FLUIDJ, Mon Sep-16-19 05:44 AM
ones for kids up until around age 3 or so...
Def. a pick your poison type situation....let em keep a 103° temperature, or bring it down to a safe level with a sugar rush side effect.....
13347686, She’s not a sugar kid, so she was stereotypically wired
Posted by MEAT, Mon Sep-16-19 09:34 AM
Couldn’t stop for the life of her.
13347692, I doubt there is enough sugar in the dose to have an effect
Posted by BigKato, Mon Sep-16-19 09:59 AM
It might even help in getting the medicine into the bloodstream quicker.

Walgreens always tried to up-sell the added flavoring when I picked up antibiotics for the kids. The regular flavor is already sweet enough and tastes like bubble gum.
13347711, lol. My child weighs 26 lbs and has gotta be like 2 feet or more
Posted by MEAT, Mon Sep-16-19 11:24 AM
Every chemical you give something that small has an outsized effect.
13347712, isnt the sugar rush a myth
Posted by RobOne4, Mon Sep-16-19 11:24 AM
also is there even enough sugar in 2 tblspns of medicine to even cause it? I think you just got a hyper ass kid
13347721, How big do you think kids are?
Posted by MEAT, Mon Sep-16-19 12:02 PM
Also I’m not talking about behavior, I’m talking energy levels
13347729, they just have that energy anyway and it's not going anywhere
Posted by hardware, Mon Sep-16-19 01:11 PM
i thought it was diet related too

nope, this dude is just leveled up.
13347736, They don’t. Humans don’t. Drink a coke before you go to bed tonight.
Posted by MEAT, Mon Sep-16-19 01:46 PM
Let me know if it has zero effect on your ability to calm down.

13347869, It’s not an experiment, it’s an input/output test

And I know you know what those are
13347815, let me counter your experiment
Posted by RobOne4, Tue Sep-17-19 02:26 AM
my son had a baseball game tonight. It ended at 9:30. We got home at 10. he had a box of juice and cupcake which were both team snacks on the way home. He slept like a baby, right away.
13347846, Who made the cupcake?
Posted by legsdiamond, Tue Sep-17-19 10:12 AM

13347858, Whole Foods...
Posted by FLUIDJ, Tue Sep-17-19 10:36 AM
They're cupcakes are THEEEeeee worst!
I've never had a cupcake from there that had sufficient amounts of sugar.
which I find odd...
13347860, That's exactly what i'm saying
Posted by hardware, Tue Sep-17-19 10:48 AM
they have natural energy
once its spent, its spent

it doesn't matter how much sugar they have.

If they still running around, its not because of a soda. They simply haven't been adequately exhausted.

same goes for you. coffee isn't going to keep you up all night if you're actually legitimately tired.
13347865, Also: caffeine is very different from sugar.
Posted by stravinskian, Tue Sep-17-19 11:01 AM

A diet coke will keep a kid up just as much as a sugary coke.
13347866, After a high physical activity he fell asleep. Fascinating.
Posted by MEAT, Tue Sep-17-19 11:05 AM
13347874, have you ever seen 10/11 year old baseball?

But please enlighten me on how a generalization of every human to reach two years old and how that applies to the specific kid that I’ve raised every day for the last two years and am familiar enough with their habits, behaviors, inputs, and outputs.
13347816, consistent factor: you.
Posted by Rjcc, Tue Sep-17-19 03:17 AM
you think sugar hypes them up, so you see them as hyped up.

this has been shown in experiments with parents and kids.

13347868, So I’d be the control and the meds would be the variable
