I started getting familiar earlier this year. They were opening for Smino, and I genuinely thought seeing them live would put me on. I was still in the same place ... felt the same way after the Dreamville record, and this kinda confirms it

I'll probably go back through the whole project again and there are a few tracks I'll go back to multiple times after that, but is what it is otherwise

i think the first half was okay but the second half is good. i definitely understand the comparisons to outkast. i would have just said they have influence of outkast instead of saying they are the new outkast though lol. there are definitely tracks where theyre trying to pay homage to outkast.

i enjoyed it overall. cant say i loved it but it will get more spins.

digging this one a lot. She's hella young, and some of her subject matter reflects that, and you can hear that she intentionally made music for young girls that may be listening to her music. But, despite that, I dig it.

something about it is refreshing.

and she only has ONE song with cussing which in today's time is huge.

its not a Blu record lol
sounds fine to me - ive talked to a lot of folks about this record and this is the first ive heard anything like this
at any rate, you're doing yourself a disservice if that made you turn it off on track 1, but do you player.

the volume was so low on it on google play i couldnt really even evaluate it.

im definitely checking out this album but ill be honest ive been concerned about that.

really took away from my listen.

Only listened on Amazon music. I've been meaning to check it on another service just to see if it was a bad upload or something...

and it sounds great

no issues with the sound quality on google play. production is great. good listen.

i guess its a slow week. next week will be great skyzoo+pete rock as well as brittany howard. this week? im checking out the von pea for sure. maybe jpegmafia. i actually have a chance to get all caught up before next friday at least.

M.A.'s is 2 or 3 songs too long but that said, there's not 2 or 3 BAD songs that should go, it's just more ear fatigue. Coulda took off the 2 or 3 weakest songs (though, again, not BAD), and focused on the good stuff more.

To illustrate, M.A.'s album is 1 hr, 8 mins. Da Baby's is 35 mins (could actually used a couple more songs from him, he's killing it)

i think i "enjoyed" dababy's more but i could do without hearing them again. theyre not bad but i wouldnt really say good either.

..do yourself a favor and grab 5 (5/19) while you're at it.
