I don't know if he was prepping this idea or testing it in general, and it's not going to change the reaction to the TS incident (Justice just smiled and didn't seem to care that much), but I think it affects the perspective on just how much this went through his head before, and that he probably would've have picked a time to do it that night no matter who won.
