its clear the guards/facility will be scapegoated and it will prolly work. all of the talk about overtime, poor staffing, etc is getting traction in the media. so some poor part time guard will be the patsy and his entire life ruined.

if this were a democratic attorney general under a democratic president...republicans would be on tv/social media 24/7 hammering home the point that this facility is under the jurisdiction of the bureau of prisons...which is housed within the department of justice (bill barr)...which is housed within the executive branch (donald trump). the entire story would be about complete incompetence at best (and complete corruption at worst) of the ag and president and the chaotic failings of just one of many organizations they are ruining.

seriously...what is it going to take for democrats to wake up and embrace 'just do what republicans do' as a means to gain/capitalize on a political advantage. its the only thing saving republicans from electoral irrelevance.
