13338290, Hip Hop, specifically the culture Posted by j., Fri Jun-14-19 09:17 AM
In middle school, HS and college and some years beyond I used to FIEND for mixtapes, records, radio shows, Rap City and Yo!, new music, magazines, live shows, gear, my local scene it was more than music. It was a way of life, a value system (don't bite, be original, represent your clique/side of town) like so many other fatherless children, late 80's-early to mid 90's golden age Hip Hop raised me
It all started to fall apart around the ringtone switch to digital era Nowadays I'm meh about it some of my old crew are trapped in the 90's I try not to be and give the new generation a listen but this "I'm a junkie dope fiend" sound ain't it
