13325288, Who are these people that dig Kodak black? Make yourself known

Set aside this fools horrible judgement with the recent Nipsey/Lauren comments. Cause it doesn’t surprise me one bit that this guy has no decency or respect for human life.

Before this dust up, I always ignored his music and his interviews. For some reason his profile grew over the past few years and it became harder to avoid his music. I found myself changing the station when his songs came on.

He’s even featured on a few songs I like, and I have to turn it off when his verse comes in. I think he is THAT Bad as a rapper. He speaks and rhymes like there’s marbles in his mouth and when you can understand him he still ain’t saying shit.

He’s not a good harmonizer like an Uzi Vert, or a Future

He doesn’t have any kind of clever wordplay. No new delivery or cadence like say the Migos.

So what is the appeal with this guy??? I hear people like Charlemagne ride for him and he gets featured on songs with respected artists. To me he is the worst rapper I’ve ever heard hands down. So if you dig him tell me why hes dope to you.
13325292, I did not realize he had fans like that until his dustup with Ebro

the way the twitterverse came out to defend him and clown Ebro was shocking to me.

and the features are really what make the song.

Also 'looking like I still do fraud' is just funny, and it appeals to the P.O.S. inside me (pause)

13325332, he's a fan and student of 90s southern rap
Posted by bearfield, Tue Apr-09-19 02:09 PM
he rapped over the "mind playing tricks on me" sample on "transportin." on /lil b.i.g. pac/ there is a stretch of songs that evoke 90s southern rap. at the top of one of these songs he states his love for music like that. the last half of /dying to live/ is genuinely classic southern reflective lyricism in the vein of face, bun, dre, etc.

he's an idiot though. it's hard to appreciate his raps when his public persona is so revolting
13325338, *here*

i dont remember what it sounded like but considering the bad albums im able to stomach through it must of been pretty bad.

dont really remember what kind of trouble dude has been in and dont care to spend any time looking into him.

the name does stick with you though.
13325389, it's front-loaded with single-ish songs
Posted by bearfield, Tue Apr-09-19 04:03 PM
the back half is worth listening to. just skip to "transgression" and start from there
