So they've got a delicate balancing act to manage.

On one side there's the party agenda. On the other there's the district that voted them into Congress; swing districts where voters were likely primarily swayed by campaigns that promised the Dem candidate would vote w/their constituent's wishes and not necessarily solely w/the party agenda.

And those moderate Dems played a significant role in taking back the House in November. So to some degree, from their perspectives at least, I imagine they believe that to keep the majority they have to balance those oft-conflicting factors.

Not saying that's reason enough to vote for a shitty bill (or w/Republicans ever) in MY opinion. Just saying that's a point of view I can sort of understand objectively.
