About 2004, while visiting New York, I ran into Chris Rock and friends at a deli. I have a friend who used to work at HBO, and my wife and I met her for lunch at a deli down the block from her building. In walks the whole Chris Rock team; Chris, Louis C.K., Mario Joyner, Ali Leroi and the dude who played Pootie Tang. Turns out a couple of them knew my friend so there were head nods all around.

A friend of mine is married to T-Mo's cousin. T-Mo, Khujo and Gipp brought their young kids to my friend's backyard cookout/kid's birthday party. I made light convo, but I had soooo many questions. I didn't want to be "that dude", though.

He was walking around and not one person bothered him until I went up and said something to him. After that about four or five people stopped him after that. I'm sure he was hot at me because of that lol.

I was on vacation in jamaica with some family members and we had gone to a shopping area in Montego Bay.

One of the locals pointed out this guy leaning on some railings on the floor above us and we recognised it as Lennox Lewis. He was with a group of about 4 or 5 guys just hanging around the area. So the group I was with called at him to get his attention and he waved back at us. Someone in the group then motioned for him to come down to us, and he actually took the walk down the to the ground level to speak to us. He came down alone without his mates.

Lennox spoke into our video camera and talked about how Jamaica was the land he loved etc..

This was just after he retired and he’d put a bit of weight on from his fighting best. We were asking him if he would box Klitscko again and he was saying that he might do (I bet he got asked that all the time).

He spent 2 or 3 minutes talking to us and he was very friendly. It was obvious that he felt comfortable being where he was in Jamaica.

Guess they kinda got lost in the store, cause before they knew it, they were the only ones in the store. About 30 seconds later the dorrs opened back up and Mike and two kids walked in. After they gasped, his security ran over and escorted them out. My boy yelled out "OFF THE WALL IS MY FAVORITE ALBUM!!", then they locked the doors behind them...lol

A dude I know from the neighborhood in Philly (I think his name is Jamal). Random summer day back in the early 00s, I'm cruising & chiefing, run into this dude and he wanted to ride so...

Firstly, dude fucked my high up before we even rolled out, as he started screaming w/ veins popping out his neck about how the cops be fucking with him, etc. Mind you, it's just us two in the car. Get down to South Street, look up and see 15 walking with two women about half a block up.

I swear 15 never turned around or looked back, but you could see where he upped his pace from a slow stroll to a power walk. body language looked mad uncomfortable.

Ronnie Lott in SF - that one was funny cuz here is one of the baddest men to ever play football and he looked like any other frazzled dad getting frustrated by his wife and teenage daughters. He also wasn't 10 feet tall like i imagined. I'm 5'11" and he might be a smidge taller than me.

Sugar Ray Leonard - LAX to Vegas. I saw him and it was cool, cuz i grew up on his era of boxing, but wasn't gonna bother him. My daughter (14 at the time) didn't know who he was but saw people taking pics with him and wanted a pic. He was super gracious and charming as hell in our 2 min exchange. Looked at my two year old son and said something like 'he's beautiful, it makes me want to have another'. As a new parent you eat that shit up.

Common & Chris Mullin - separate times, but notable only in that they were flying Southwest. In my head i was like 'that's how you keep your money'.

at Atlantic Station in Atlanta a few years ago.

I was on the sidewalk walking by and just happened to look up and see him. But I was skeptical. Like, "I know that ain't RZA."

I then tweeted something along the lines of, "I think I saw RZA and his fam on a horse-drawn carriage" AND I mentioned him using his official Twitter handle."

Soon after, he tweeted that he was in NOLA enjoying time with his family. He didn't respond to me. LOL.

I was walking into a hotel in Norfolk and Pusha T was walking out at the same time. I just said Push what up!! He smiled and gave me the head nod... that was cool...

at the Mall of America on a random like Thursday night. The mall was kinda quiet but it seemed I was the only person who recognized him.

Saw Dikembe Mutumbo at a Borders Books when that was still a thing.

Ran into Dave Chappelle and chopped it up with him for like 20-25 minutes. It took that long for someone else to notice him.

I unexpectedly, and not due to my own merits, was pulled in to have a private lunch with Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth, in a small international city, while they were preparing to shoot Inglorious Bastards.

On a flight, from a smaller midwest city, not during the NFL season, I was seated in coach next to coach John Harbaugh. No one recognized him. Once the cabin doors shut an attendant announced names for comp 1st class upgrades. They mispronounced, repeatedly and differently, Harbaugh's name. I had to let him know he was who they were likely calling. Moving from my aisle seat to let him out, he simultaneously dropped his glasses on the ground and I stepped on them, crushing the frame. He brushed it off, I apologized, he sent me a drink back mid flight...fuck the Ravens though.

This fall, on an Amtrak (non-Acela) NE corridor train, which was unusually so crowded after the first stop, a handful of new people in my car just sat on top of their luggage instead of moving car to car to look for an open seat. After a second stop seats opened up, including the one next to me, and the tenderest(middle-aged)roni sat in it. After smoothly cursing someone out on the phone who apparently suggested she take the train, she fell asleep partially on my shoulder. We didn't speak beyond pleasantries during the remainder of the trip and I didn't really know who she was, but knew she looked familiar. But being the most beautiful woman I've seen get on a train in Newark, and the creep I naturally am, I Googled her luggage tag later that night. Turned out to be Mara Brock Akil. Considering those tabloid stories weeks later, I could have not impossibly shot my shot and we could have had our own affair.

Oh, and Rand Paul lives on my floor, in the building I'm moving out of this week. He's only given me a cordial hello once, when his young son was with him, so I never hold the elevator or main door for him if I see him coming.

I met John Voight in an elevator... as a kid I met Kd Lang backstage about the time or a year before she blew up... met Matt Pike (High on Fire, Sleep) out front of a venue set him up with some twenty twen twen...

When the Super Bowl was here, I crossed paths with Woody Paige from Around The Horn. That old man is wayyyy bigger than I ever would have guessed. I'm 5'11 so that cat had to be a solid 6'4.

After an outdoor Big Daddy Kane show, I bumped into him in a golf cart rolling to his hotel. When he saw that I recognized him, he stopped & gave me some dap.

But just a few weeks ago, I was at a super small, super local restaurant sitting at the bar with a friend and Adrian Grenier came in and sat next to me.

He's way, way, way hotter in person.

Also met Jeffrey Wright at Blue Moon or whatever that lil cafe is called in FortGreen. Service was fucking terrible at that spot.

Also was at a lounge with Broke Back dude last year in LA.

Years back when The Simmons show was popping I was in LA and we were in the car and there was a convo about which daughter was prettier and no lie, the youngest one pulled up next to us at a stop light in a Red Benz.

Romany Malco (used to?) live around the corner from me so I've seen him a bunch. Used to see Jeffrey Wright as well... he lives/lived on Vanderbilt.

Hard Rock Cafe club. 2003. Halloween. It was great because pretty much every chick was dressed up as a slutty something: nurse, cat lady, cop, red riding hood, something. Wonderful.

Moon came in with 2 playboy model-looking ladies. 1987 style...lots of plastics. We were in vip somehow (long absurd story for some other time), and he walked by with them broads. One of my boys spotted him immediately, notified me for the confirm and then we laughed like crazy. He danced in a corner with them chicks for like 30 minutes then left. We filled in hella blanks for what happened after.

Also there that same night was WCW rassler Disco Inferno. It was my first time in Vegas. And it was as ridiculous as I had hoped. The Dj played Ain’t No Fun and basically the entire VIP knew the entire Nate Dogg part. It turned me out. No lie.

I knew a chick that worked for a "modeling agency" and they would get jobs just to hang out with certain celebrities when they were in town. One of them was Rick Flair. She told me they would ride in the limo and got to dinner.. then they would get dropped off. She also told me that one time an old R and B singer asked her if she wanted to go to his hotel to make some extra money. She declined but im sure a lot of chicks did that.....
