13299003, Who are the people behind this Polo retro rebrand?
Posted by micMajestic, Tue Nov-27-18 02:52 PM
I wish I was the person at Ralph Lauren Polo spearheading that campaign.

Hey, this is what I was wearing 25 years ago. You should start making those again. *cashes checks*

Is that how it works?

But seriously, I'm hoping that there are some people from my generation getting paid off of this.
13299007, i saw this a few weeks ago and noticed you can customize polo now

13299133, i got a love/hate relationship with the retro shit
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Wed Nov-28-18 09:34 AM
i love it bc it gives me the opportunity to cop the shit i always wanted in high school but couldnt afford..

but i hate it bc of the hypebeasts. The good shit, mofos are buying just to resell. Also, some shit looks nice on the website, but is just OK when i see it in person.
Macys got a ton of the Hi Tech shit just sitting on the shelves. Some is even 50% off right now. But nothing is really making me pull the trigger.

quality (of the material) which is why I won't pay the $400+/- for the Polo Bear sweaters I have my eyes on.
13299209, yeah, the sweater are definitely going to drop in price
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Wed Nov-28-18 01:06 PM
i typically cop a bear sweater every year, but i wait til they are around 150.
i'm not really feeling the new bear sweaters though. Polo just dropped 3 new bear sweatshirts that are tough though.
13299211, Yeah, I got one in that 150-200 range a few years ago
Posted by DJR, Wed Nov-28-18 01:10 PM
I got a sweatshirt for a big discount last year too. Their website seems to have sales pretty often.
13299212, The hooded joint is lovely and the striped one is sho nuff noice!
Posted by Creole, Wed Nov-28-18 01:12 PM
I'm just not dropping over $800 for them. Hopefully, my size is still around when the prices drop after Christmas.

Last Christmas, my wife copped one. I didn't like the fit. So, I returned it for another Bear one that was on sale and a couple regular cotton cable-knits that were also on sale.

Posted by GROOVEPHI, Wed Nov-28-18 01:34 PM
thats prob my favorite one out of my collection.

Last year, I copped the black Martini bear sweater. I like the cotton joints over the wool ones bc the wool joints can be mad itchy and hot. lol.

I've seen the hooded one and the stripe joints in the store. They are nice, but not moving me to make that purchase.

i may cop some of the marked down bear hoodies and hooded tees for my son for christmas.
13299231, INDEED!

Does it matter who's doing it as long as they're doing it? LOL I think it's dope. I've copped some of the Polo Bear sweaters. Did so early this year when they hit sale racks. There are a couple more, right now, that I want but I am not spending over $400 to get them.

Besides Macy's, you can jump on Farfetch, END, or Mr. Porter to catch some of the pieces before they hit the resellers.

13299219, don't sleep on the outlets either
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Wed Nov-28-18 01:43 PM
i am sure some of these retro collections will be hitting the outlets soon. maybe next year or so

13299232, Arundel Mills has had them. So, there was need to drive too far.
Posted by Creole, Wed Nov-28-18 02:25 PM
13299235, so glad they put a polo store there
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Wed Nov-28-18 03:00 PM
i drive to Northern VA about once a month for work, so I typically stop at the Polo outlet at National Harbor. But that ARundel mills joint has been a lifesaver for me copping those Bear of the month tees.

i got all of them except 2. Shits still got the tags on them. May break them out next summer. who knows. Maybe I'll sell them all at once on ebay.
13299315, Hole up....there's a Polo store in arundel mills??? when this
Posted by ambient1, Thu Nov-29-18 09:30 AM
happen??

13299317, yeah bro, a little over a year now i believe
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Thu Nov-29-18 09:35 AM
I found out about it on the humble.
Its right by the food court. I think it used to be the Gap factory store.
13299494, WoW....Good looking out...I literally only go to one section
Posted by ambient1, Thu Nov-29-18 04:28 PM
in that mall lol....
right near there...I ALWAYS come in thru Saks/Last Call and go in the Gap lookin for lil stuff b4 I leave ....and that's it

and now that I think of it, I ain't been there since I moved back in town earlier this yr
13299606, Stopped going out there when OffSaks began to fall off & J Crew's factory...

store started selling their own line of stuff a opposed to the discounted off-season stuff from the main retail stores. And then, when Neiman's shutdown last year, it was a wrap until my wife told me the Lo outlet was there.
13299608, OffSaks is definitely falling off...i used to find some legit steals
Posted by ambient1, Fri Nov-30-18 10:17 AM
in there early on and lately (past few years) it's been kinda butt

13299614, They really stopped selling all the good stuff. Used to be able to cop 7s...

for the low. Nice prices on e'rythang especially brand name dress shirts, dress shoes, suits, sweaters, etc. Shit looked desolate the last time I walked past it.

My wife caught some nice stuff last year when Neiman's was shutting down. There was nothing in there for me by the time I went.

Did you know the True Religion store in Towson is now a factory outlet store? I didn't care for their jeans but I would buy cargo pants and denim shirts from them.
13299621, i copped a pair of shorts from the true spot early in the summer
Posted by ambient1, Fri Nov-30-18 10:36 AM
i'm not sure if it turned to the factory store then
wasted my bread cuz I only rocked em once and not really feelin em lol
13299681, Yeah! They did it. Damned shame too. Think all that bread spent on True...
Posted by Creole, Fri Nov-30-18 12:31 PM
and now people ain't even wearing it like that anymore.

That's why brands like Polo are always gravy. Their stuff is timeless for the most part.
13299616, havent been in that Off saks 5th in years
Posted by GROOVEPHI, Fri Nov-30-18 10:29 AM
that used to be my go to for dress attire. When i started working here, I went and copped two Zegna italian wool suits, they were 2 for 1. I've come up on some nice ties there as well. i stopped shopping there so long ago that they dont even send me coupons anymore.

I try to avoid arundel mills by all means. I feel like the places i want to shop at are so far away from each other. We typically go there to shop for the kids though.
13299679, Maaaan! It was easier going there than it was to drive down to Tyson's...
Posted by Creole, Fri Nov-30-18 12:29 PM
Now, if I want something really nice, I gotta go all the way down there unless I can run up on it in Nordstrom's - Columbia or Towson.

13299222, good lookin...
Posted by Dstl1, Wed Nov-28-18 01:50 PM
I JUST copped that red bear hoodie for $66.
