13271457, Y’all hip to these “type beats” on YouTube? Posted by legsdiamond, Sun Jul-01-18 09:55 AM
Found a few of these on YouTube and really liked the vibe.
It’s instrumental hip hop beats a type of artist would use.
Kendrick type beat, Cole type beat.

13271465, I used to run into them all the time when tapes didn't tag producers Posted by Nodima, Sun Jul-01-18 12:31 PM
Every time I'd add a mixtape to my iTunes the next step was googling, idk, "Lil' B Shoot the Bitch Bra prod. by" and so on all through the album/tape hoping somebody tagged it somewhere. I never really gave them any time though, I was already wasting so much time trying to find the real names for the beats I wasn't interested in the imitators.

13271468, as a producer, I pretty much always made beats with someone in mind Posted by J_Stew, Sun Jul-01-18 01:31 PM
Pretty sure 99 percent of people do. Unless it was just meant to be an instrumental.

13271489, Sounds like the cool cousin to those lo-fi hip hop instrumentals. Posted by The Wordsmith, Sun Jul-01-18 06:38 PM
I listen to those lo-fi joints when I just want to cool out and zone.

13271522, yup, I had a deep house mix going and saw a lofi hip hop link Posted by legsdiamond, Mon Jul-02-18 08:43 AM

13271539, Kinda related, I love the "How to..." videos Posted by double negative, Mon Jul-02-18 09:40 AM
there are few folks who do this.
they take an artist and break down their sounds, beat styles, lyrical content and then produce a song thats a woulda-coulda song.
like...
how to Logic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI1AStFOD6E&t=342s
how to Migos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eg4uZzuuBsc

13271590, related: I like the beat re-creation videos Posted by PROMO, Mon Jul-02-18 12:40 PM
why? cuz they NEVER get them EXACTLY right. there's just certain things that always happen in a studio that get put into the track that you can't recreate unless you were there.

13271598, you got some favorites? Posted by double negative, Mon Jul-02-18 01:06 PM
I've gone down a rabbit hole with this a few times.

13271591, Under 6 minutes for Migos still seems like 8 minutes too long. Posted by Innocent Criminal, Mon Jul-02-18 12:50 PM
