13271457, Y’all hip to these “type beats” on YouTube?

Found a few of these on YouTube and really liked the vibe.

It’s instrumental hip hop beats a type of artist would use.

Kendrick type beat, Cole type beat.

13271465, I used to run into them all the time when tapes didn't tag producers

Every time I'd add a mixtape to my iTunes the next step was googling, idk, "Lil' B Shoot the Bitch Bra prod. by" and so on all through the album/tape hoping somebody tagged it somewhere. I never really gave them any time though, I was already wasting so much time trying to find the real names for the beats I wasn't interested in the imitators.

13271468, as a producer, I pretty much always made beats with someone in mind

Pretty sure 99 percent of people do. Unless it was just meant to be an instrumental.
13271488, yup. my favorite result of them is Jake One changing his...

13271489, Sounds like the cool cousin to those lo-fi hip hop instrumentals.

I listen to those lo-fi joints when I just want to cool out and zone.

Since 1976
13271522, yup, I had a deep house mix going and saw a lofi hip hop link

which brought up the type beats.

I'm fucking with this Yondo cat right now.
13271539, Kinda related, I love the "How to..." videos

there are few folks who do this.

they take an artist and break down their sounds, beat styles, lyrical content and then produce a song thats a woulda-coulda song.

like...

how to Migos

13271590, related: I like the beat re-creation videos
Posted by PROMO, Mon Jul-02-18 12:40 PM
why? cuz they NEVER get them EXACTLY right. there's just certain things that always happen in a studio that get put into the track that you can't recreate unless you were there.
13271598, you got some favorites?
Posted by double negative, Mon Jul-02-18 01:06 PM
I've gone down a rabbit hole with this a few times.
13271591, Under 6 minutes for Migos still seems like 8 minutes too long.
