We definitely differ there, because addiction is generally an attempt to find some peace that turns into self harm then ends up harming other people *because* it's self harm. Addicts often don't even set out to harm themselves... let alone others, so I tend to have some sympathy for them. Especially since it often results from some sort of endured trauma or unresolved issue. If respecting her in death means I'm going to bat for her, then I'm swinging for the fences. She handled her issues poorly, but I don't think that's necessarily a reason to lose all respect for someone... especially a Black person in this society. Just my view.

Well speaking on it and being disrespectful about it are different.
