The point wasn't to compare Whiteny's issues to Kels or MJ's. It was to say that the things that made your life unsavory aren't off-limits post-mortem. No one on the outside knew of Whitney's abuse until recently (from my understanding of the story, that JUST made real headlines...after the whole picture thing came about).

My point was, I'm not going to go to bat for someone who handled their issues in a destructive way and passed all that trauma on to their daughter. The whole story is sad but not 'let's not speak on it' sad.

To your point though, I wouldn't fault you for not equating the perils. Maybe it was a bad example on my part.
