She's amazing. Her song with Glasper and Kaytranada is great.

She dropped two EPs this year:

The Beauty of Everything, Pt. 1 (February 2019)
Favorite track: "Smoke & Mirrors"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF-XiZ31l_4

The Beauty of Everything, Pt. 2 (May 2019)
Favorite track: Tie between "Love On-Demand"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thyJ0e2dvTk
and "We'll Always Have Paris"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbyGisGxABg

"Love On-Demand" features SiR but his name isn't listed in the title. That was a pleasant surprise because I love that man's voice. He's one of my favorite new male vocalists, and I enjoy his work with Chris Dave.

I discovered Alex via a webseries Issa Rae published on her YouTube channel. I think it was called "First." The song was "Child's Play," which sounds like it features Paris Strother of KING on background. The two have collaborated before on "So Here It Goes"

Her father is Ernie Isley, and I think she sang backup for Robin Thicke.

I think some of her songs sound too similiar, but she's definitely someone to look out for. While searching on YouTube, I saw she made an entry into NPR's "Tiny Desk" series. I hope they pick her. Good exposure.

understandably the soul music landscape has changed

however, the music she produces is still in demand by a large group of young folks, so why is she so slept on?

i sent her a dm on instagram in mid-March asking her to try out for Tiny Desk, im glad to see she did. i sent one to Jesse Boykins too

That’s dope!

Edited to add: You’re right. I’d love for her to get the attention H.E.R. has received.
13337976, she's a fav. it's refreshing to here a singer that ain't cussing

it's getting to the point where singers are becoming parodies. even Mariah cussing on her new joint. guess they don't care bout the kids anymore
