Nike is slipping but it's not because of Adidas or UA. It's just the saturation of the sneaker market in general. All the high end designer brands have fashion sneakers out now.

Gucci, LV, Red bottoms, Saint Laurent, Ferragamo etc are now considered plausible options (rappers and urban marketing has probably helped usher this in).

It seems like Nike relies heavily on retros for this stuff. Not bad, just kinda stale. Adidas has put out new designs that do a good job of looking modern/fashionable without being overly technical. Of course both brands put out their fair share of garbage. It's not a competition, but I've just personally found myself going from Nike everything to Adidas everything. I'm sure Nike is still the king by far in terms of sales.

The Yeezy hype is dying fast and the Boost hype is too. They haven't yet effectively integrated Boost into basketball models and the PureBoost and Ultra Boost have been done to death. The mid-top models have gotten no traction. I like that they are bringing back Feet You Wear but it won't pop. They moved on quickly from certain tech like FYW and Formotion that they should have kept. They have a lot of high price-tag models from Simmons, Wang, et al that seem to just exist to exist, few are produced and fewer are sold. They are also ugly as fuck.

Nike I think was wayward for a while but they have had some decent models lately. The VaporMax isn't my favorite but it's been a success and aesthetically I would take it over the Boost stuff, especially the majority that have a stryo-foam white Boost unit. The LeBron 15 is a very innovative shoe and most of the performance-oriented Jordans have looked good and been great for hoops (xx8 an all-time great performer). The KD line has found its footing and the Kyrie 3 was a very sharp-looking shoe. The Off-White collab I thought was hotter than any of Adidas's designer or rapper-inspired stuff.

Adidas has made a nice push from obscurity to the center but Nike still dominates the market. People were hyping Under Armour as the next big thing not long ago but they made a number of missteps and now they are back in the periphery. Adidas is a stronger name but in footwear they have had some real shit years until recently and could easily get back to that level if they don't keep pushing forward with new marketing and innovative tech.

if you can get a pair of those beckham accelerator UBs they did, DO IT. kangur or some type of other synthentic laid over the primeknit, nice low-pro sock collar on the ankle. it's a UB model with some substance in the upper and a very thoughtful design. i think they look good, too.

I only got one pair and they seem like they are a perfect winter shoe. I'm in the Chi so they getting burn right now. Prolly won't wear them this summer and they'll resurface in the fall. There's a few different colorways that I saw that had me 'hmmmm'-ing but I passed.

I like your assortment, those Trunner LX are underrated. If they put more hype behind them they could have been a big thing. Overall the mix isn't really my style personally but I can appreciate the consistency in aesthetics and what you're shooting for with a lot of neutral colors, classic designs and stuff that isn't overly played out. I like those all-star AJ1s and I am surprised they have sat. I am a big fan of full-grain leather and wish Nike would use it more often. It was great on the white/navy/silver 1+ and it is pretty nice here as well, my only gripe is the out-of-nowhere blue sole

I haven't hooped in them yet. That'll be the tell-tale but they are a bit narrow. I did notice that. I think they loosen once you get active in them. But just in case, I got a pair of LeBron soldier 11's so I can at least have a back up.

What's funny is, the list I posted changed drastically shortly afterward. My birthday was 10 days after this post and the wife told me to hold off on getting my kicks as she had something planned. The cubbies look alot different than what I posted, though some of them did make it to a slot.

I laughed at how I didn't take much risk with the colors. The final allotment was even worse so I'm going to actively add a little more color when I start replacing pairs. But I like all the designs. I try to pick what I like and what I think looks good on me rather than what's hot. Hell played out just means it'll be a throwback eventually lol.

my homeboy who sits across from me one a lottery for some Yeezys last summer. He paid $220 or $225 and immediately put them on Ebay...they went from $780 and some change.

They are both selling for well over a G on various websites and I wanted to flip them so bad.

I liked the look of the black/olive ones but those are sitting like bricks so I'll wait on those and the OG altitude makeup, too. JB has sucked all the life out of the 13 but some of the colors are nice. AJ12 and AJ13 will always have a place in my heart

Not sure I want to pay $130 for any of them though. I feel like they might end up discounted eventually? If I miss out, I won’t really care. Really do like all 3 shoes though, wish Air Max 93’s would come out more often. I like them a lot more than the much more hyped 95’s or the 98’s they’ve been pushing.
