we dont seem to understand what is at stake.

i really do think we should have let the senate ethics committee make the final decision on this
and i would've been completely okay with it if they had concluded that Franken must resign (through that process)

but the message we are sending is that we are willing to cannibalize ourselves in order to gain a higher moral ground
knowing full well this does not matter to *insert the % of the AL that votes for moore* of the country
the message we should be sending is that yes, we do take sexual assault seriously, and will fully do an ethics review to make a determination on what happens ...
and i am certain we can do this without seeming to defend him or to discredit the women who accused him.


if i were bannon and the GOP right now i would be very quickly lining up women to make accusations
*and yes, i am cynical enough to believe they will do this moving forward*
im old enough to remember white folk vandalizing their own property *just* to accuse BLM.

im also aware this is not a popular opinion among liberal circles, but *shrug*
