I mean, that's how passive aggressive language works right? It's meaning is clear to you, but there's enough weasel built into the actual words (I mean, you will be "off" of work for an amount of "time") that you can't actually object without seeming irrational. And the person saying it always has plausible deniability, even though they could have chosen one of dozens of value-neutral ways of discussing it. Like "Atillah Moor will be out" or, honestly, "Atillah Moor has jury duty" so everybody knows you're meeting a civic duty and legal obligation.

Guilt-based office politics are way more destructive than people realize. I don't even know you and I hate this for you.
