Any hip-hop head can list a ton of smart albums, however we are talking about Jay-Z. This might be the smartest album we are going to get from an artist of Jay-Zs status.

He just might even be capable of something deeper, but will it sell? I think he's savvy enough to have seen how well received Lemonade was, so he made a companion piece...a somewhat introspective, somewhat woke, yet still commercial album.
