"who's the best?" doesn't matter in 2017. everyone can get money. joe seemed to not understand why millennial rappers feel that way. i think it's a function of how music was distributed then and is distributed now. back in joe's day you had to prove yourself in order to get on. you had to be the best rapper in your immediate vicinity or musical "lane" in order to get your music recorded and heard because the ability to disseminate music was in the hands of a select few. now all you have to do is steal pro tools and upload recordings to soundcloud. not having to compete to get your music heard does a lot to reduce the competitive aspect of making music
