13151012, Wayne Brady appreciation post.
Posted by Somnus, Mon May-01-17 09:26 AM
dude is just like the consummate performer/ TV personality.

I dunno, it's just like even when dude is being corny that shit is type funny and cool, plus he always seems to exude a certain level professionalism and class that harkens back to an older era of Black talent.

I honestly feel like he could/ would be a shoo-in for public office.

Whatch'all think?
13151013, he won/is winning

now without that appearance

but no doubt, it did introduce him to a whole new demographic.
13151071, no doubt. Classic story of us not being onboard with something

13151088, D.Rucker mighta been a stretch...i'll concede that lol....

I've always been a fan though...and when he branched out I was like "See, THAT brother is still a brother"

"Get ready....for your blessing....."
13151102, Atlanta was my cosign for Glover
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon May-01-17 10:58 AM
but besides that I still don't fuck with him too hard. A few cuts are nice but his rapping doesn't do it for me.

Darius Rucker? Wtf did he do that was dope?

13151025, i had no opinion of Wayne Brady either way until i saw him on Chappelle
Posted by BigJazz, Mon May-01-17 09:45 AM

I always wondered if it came down to him or Drew Carey when they were looking for Bob Barker's replacement.
13151028, uh no he doesnt

13151030, also that soul album

13151039, He’s got an interview with Marc Lamont Hill that’s worth watching
Posted by Cold Truth, Mon May-01-17 09:59 AM
He takes Paul Mooney to task- albeit with some reverence for Mooney- for playing into the way Wayne is perceived.

He also says he can go and do a two hour show from scratch and improve the entire thing. All in all, I think his talent shines and it is and always was cool to like him. People do go in on him for not being “black enough” or however you want to phrase it, but I think people have always enjoyed and respected his comedic chops.

I know people think of the Chappelle bit first and foremost on this subject but IMO he’s done a fair amount of interviews to dispel the way he’s perceived.
13151045, Nah, I think Dave proved how stupid it was to hate on him
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon May-01-17 10:07 AM
13151055, that's what i'm saying.
Posted by FLUIDJ, Mon May-01-17 10:19 AM
i'm not dinging his talent at all.
but his following was very lopsided. Dave brought a balance to his fan base.

"Get ready....for your blessing....."
13151104, He still doesn't have a Black following tho
Posted by legsdiamond, Mon May-01-17 10:59 AM
I think it was more so... damn, that dude is actually funny/talented and not just funny to white people.

but I doubt we are checking for him like that.

13151065, TRUTH!

and the Chapelle skit confirmed what I already knew.

i still think that's the funniest skit of all time because it was so unexpected.
13151061, i really enjoyed his album
Posted by thegodcam, Mon May-01-17 10:23 AM
13151109, his album was a total shock
Posted by Ray_Snill, Mon May-01-17 11:05 AM
I knew dude could sing but I didn't expect it to be so black.
