Subscription here meaning you pay for it with some sort of regular cadence and receive something in return. Feel free to talk about the ones you can't live without below.

Google Play Music meets all my music needs and is a steal at $7.99/month (Inaugural rate FTW).

Toggl is perfect for tracking my time so that my clients have a clearer understanding of what i'm billing them
13136989, I keep forgetting I have Google Music too
Posted by Innocent Criminal, Wed Mar-22-17 09:05 AM
I'm locked in at $7.99, I just rarely use it since Apple Music integrates much nicer with iOS.
13137039, Same

I have a lot of music uploaded on Google Music, and not having ads on YouTube is nice as well. I hardly ever open Google Music anymore though.
13137057, Yeah, I can see the iOS integration being a big deal when it
Posted by FLUIDJ, Wed Mar-22-17 12:33 PM
comes down to choosing.

Google Play works great for me because it's integrated seamlessly with Android of course....but also it's browser based and so it's eons better and smoother and faster and more versatile on my Mac than that god awful iTunes. *spits to the left*
13137557, see, I ended up disliking the Apple integration
Posted by benny, Thu Mar-23-17 04:24 PM
it was hard to tell what I owned (70ish GB) and what I didn't, and I didn't want to add too much stuff in case I had to cancel my subscription at some point.

The radios were pretty cool though
13137298, best part of Google Music is it comes with YouTube Red
Posted by Oak27, Thu Mar-23-17 10:05 AM
i haven't seen an ad on YouTube in years.
13137364, yep, it's kind of a big deal. I don't see why it doesn't get more shine
Posted by FLUIDJ, Thu Mar-23-17 12:03 PM
Who DON'T use YouTube on a regular basis???

On top of that...the integration is perfection.... I can see music videos available on youtube while listening to tracks on Google Play Music.

Every couple years I end up subscribing to one or more of those, either for a fundraiser or cause I'm baby-balling; I like to encourage reading in my house, especially for some of the more academically challenged offspring.

The info in those 4 magazines tends to have a pretty long lifespan.
(You really only need the one yearly issue about suits, classic shoes never age.)

I believe in print. you can edit Wikipedia, but not Nat Geo. LOL

that type a shit.

13137006, RE: 2 gym memberships(dont ask), <--
Posted by infin8, Wed Mar-22-17 09:35 AM
cheaper to pay it out than the cancellation fee; found a better closer deal elsewhere?

I'm not asking, but I AM tryna guess. That or an ex GF?

OK I'ma leave it alone.
13137007, lol...nah....pure laziness/indecsion
Posted by ambient1, Wed Mar-22-17 09:41 AM
basically I used to go to a gym near my old gig which is like 20mins away...I like it...but they not open late and on the weekends

another gym opened up 3 mins from my crib...ran/owned by a former Raven...better equipment/hours/cheaper... but I don't like it as much lol

basically too lazy to cancel (and too accustomed too) the former
13137300, Figured it was the hours. Sometimes I think about joining PF for late night
Posted by flipnile, Thu Mar-23-17 10:08 AM
My gym closes at 9:30pm and has excellent equipement, but sometimes I can't make it but really want to work out at like 11pm. Planet Fitness has wack equipment tho, so I think I'm going with plan B and gonna start accumulating weights for the basement.
13137554, yo, PF equip is the worst man...
Posted by Dstl1, Thu Mar-23-17 04:09 PM
I went to visit some fam in Lansing, MI...no Golds. Ended up hitting up a PF by the hotel...shit was so weak, I coulda just used the hotel fitness center...AND I paid a dub for a 24 hour pass. SMH.

Continuous:
-Playstation Vue - cable replacement. Essential for sports
-NY Times - my wife and I both read it daily
-WaPost - free right now, then $3.99 thanks to Amazon pricing
-New Yorker: read it every week (skip the events, fiction and most culture stuff though)
-Mediapart: French independent news website. Lots of dope investigative journalism.
-Spotify: their weekly Discover playlist is so well tuned, and I like the convenience of streaming, even if I still buy a few albums occasionally
-Netflix: drop it for a couple months now and again, but generally sign back up quickly

Irregular:
-HBO: maybe 4-6 months a year. Binge on GoT, Silicon Valley and 1-2 other shows then drop it
-Hulu: on and off. Will probably sign up for Handmaid's Tale
- Viki: for when I need to practice Japanese and Netflix is out of shows I haven't watched

those are the subscriptions I use, though I really want an NBA League Pass it just never works well enough on PS4 when I use the free trials.

13137108, i don't think i have any subscriptions.
Posted by KiloMcG, Wed Mar-22-17 01:55 PM
i deal with ads on spotify/pandora and i mooch off my MIL for netflix and hulu haha.

if you're counting cable as a subscription, then i have that.
13137545, Just Spotify
Posted by Playa_Politician, Thu Mar-23-17 03:55 PM
cancelled Netflix a few years back. there wasn't enough good stuff. that was before they started doing original content.

i tried Sling, i tried Playstation Now. lack of local sports and time i would actually use it keeps me from paying for it.

With spotify i justify it because i stopped buying CDs (for the most part). Now i only need to buy the occasional bandcamp album. so $10 per month ain't bad. I like that new realeases are on there day 1, where something like netflix may never get the newest movies.

don't really use the Amazon Prime. Feel like I should be on Spotify but then it's like 'with what time?'
Soundcloud, I have the individual Unlimited Pro and it's less useful since I'm not concentrating on individual stuff anymore... still a good place to keep everything together, at least until they pull the plug
