the crime is certainly heinous, but can we trust our eyes on this one?

first of all, this happened in an area well known for drugs, so it's kinda odd for a white kid to just be over there walking around. Suburbanites have been getting busted by the police for buying over there for YEARS ( why? Because they stick out like sore thumbs).

So I'm hearing that this might've been about that kid being with somebody who was over there "messing with those folks money", and caught a bad one.


Not saying it's right or justifiable, but yeah. I don't think they randomly grabbed some poor kid off the streets. There's more to this story than they're reporting.

BUT, the facts in this case are slowly coming out.

The kids were classmates, and knew each other ( apparently they frequently smoked weed together)

The suburban kid's parents agreed to a sleepover ( the kids involved all lied to their parents; there WAS no sleepover)

The kid's parents dropped him off at a random location to meet his friends ( didn't ask to meet the other kid's parents or anything)

The kids all rode around together in a stolen van for TWO Days, kickin' it. (why weren't his parents looking for him?)

and the "special needs" kid had a learning disability. As did the other kid too, I'd guess, since they were classmates.


It's all fucked up, but I'm sick of these kids being demonized when ALL these kids were doing some shit they had NO business doing in the first place, and it escalated.

I'm here in Chicago where this shit went down. And the way it's being told is like they rolled up on a kid who was severely disabled, shoved him into a van and beat on him for entertainment.
