so it was the first thursday night back from winter break and we went out and hit the bar. i wasn't even really feelin' it like that so didn't have but a drink or two. we get back to my people's apartment who lived kinda around the corner and across this little bridge thing from where my house was.

as we get back to his apartment we hear some shots pop off. we lived on the townie side of town so we just thought it had to do with locals. went inside and chilled for a minute. i was ready to go home and decided to just walk since it was not far and the homies were all drunk. so i grabbed by bowl and little container that had about a bowl full of weed in in (all in a crown royal bag haha) and bounced.

as i get to the front of my neighborhood i see cops out on the main road. i wasn't really trippin' because i was just walking home, wasn't drunk etc. they creep up on me, spotlight me and tell me to stop and put my hands up. i'm like WTF?!?! but of course i do that. cop tells me there were reports of shots fired and someone saw me walking and i looked suspicious. now, mind you, i went to JMU and a certain portion of the people there thought i must be a "thug" because i was from hampton and wore timbs. smh. anyways he asks me if i know anything about it and i tell him that when we got back we heard what sounded like they might be shots, but that i didn't know anything about it at all. he pats me down once and i obviously don't have a gun. i thought i was good. he does a second round and feels the little bowl and shit in my jacket pocket.

so the mother fucker put me in cuffs and in the back of the car. asking me questions about where/who i got the weed from and shit. i decline to answer. then he had the nerve to tell me he was going to cut me a break, and i'm thinking holy shit he's gonna let me go with a warning since it was such a tiny amount of weed, but nope. he tells me he's gonna let me go home and not take me downtown. and sure, that was better than having to spend the night in the jail, but COME ON!

anyways, i was charged with possession and in the court papers that shit was less than half a gram. what a fucking pain in the ass all because someone thought i looked suspicious and like i might have a gun.
