23 candidates running for US Senate
122 candidates running for US House of Reps
599 candidates running nation-wide

Looks like they're actually running fewer candidates than usual this year, based on their 2015 and 2014 pages.

What you said might be true of the Green Party (not sure - I genuinely don't know), but the LP isn't really a once every four years kind of thing.
