yup.
and it's a little difficult to read all this press about this excellent, nuanced black show that's coming out, and not know whether this blackness is gonna include well-conceived black women. i get it's only 2 eps so far. and i get that the center of it is gonna be the male relationships. but, i'll be emotionally honest and say that I hope for this type of inclusion.
i watched the first two eps and thought they were good. i'm invested in alfred. i could listen to Isaiah Whitlock read the side of a cereal box and still laugh. and the daughter is adorable. so, i'll keep checking back in to see how it goes.
>Don't get me wrong, the show is excellent, and imma have the >dvr ready for any new episodes BUTTTTTTTT as to be expected >the women are framed only in reference to their relationships >to the men and as of yet (2 eps in) the show has not >introduced any stand alone female characters. > >I'm not surprised, but I really really hope that coming >episodes remedy this. There are wayyyyy too many varied >dynamic black women in Atlanta not to delve deeper into their >lives.
