I read what you wrote and my initial impression is that it sounds like: "She's a good woman because she stands by her man." That's literally something that she said she *doesn't* do at the beginning of their career in national politics, and it undermines a lot of the feminist story that they're trying to play up.
I agree that "she'll stick by you (the country) even when it's hard" is a good angle. But infidelity is an extremely touchy subject, and I can see why they would be very cautious about it.
