As mentioned, I thought the black characters were written very unevenly. How delightful is it to watch a show in which the sole speaking black female is so stereotypically over the top, with all the attitude and bitchiness she can muster? How wonderful is it to see the only overt racism in the show come from two black kids?

>first of all, once you're a murder suspect, the foot soldiers

As mentioned verbatim,

"I get the poor treatment after they confirm he's a suspect in a murder, but prior to that it was too heavy handed."

I mentioned that.

>y'all!" the cop that took him into the station was black and
>wasn't mean to him. he asked him what he did and Naz said

My issue more than anything else, is the black characters in this series thus far are written unevenly. And it's not just this series, in many series we face this problem. I'm not asking for every black character to be jesus of nazareth, but even for the minor non-lead characters there needs to be more nuisance. I want more fleshed out characters of color. That's it. As I mentioned, I'm still going to be watching so it didn't bother me enough to not watch it. I get that this was only the first episode, so hopefully it'll balance out as the series continues.
