I have a friend named Mia
we grew up together
Her mom and my dad used to "date"
"date" as in my dad used to pimp her mom
now as a young children we knew this
we became pretty good friends
I didnt live with my dad but when i stayed there Mia would sleep in my room
we shared everything...still do
through out various years Mia kept journals
she would let me read them and talk about things that happend to her
since i was young i wrote essays and mini books..never to see the light of day
i loosely wrote a fictional book about Mia when i was in college

fast forward to present day
she is in a bad spot
in jail for drug possesion, prostitution and assault and battery on a police officer
a couple of years ago I befriended an exec with Pocketbooks and passed some of my the ideas along
he liked them but they needed work

well when Mia called me from jail i told her about the book i wrote about her in college
i asked her permission to submit it
she said yea
i did
publisher liked it

I dont want the money..i want to help my friend
is this the right way to do it?

But always take the money.

are willing to break her off with some if not all of your profits.

i don't see the issue.

I've been looking for a film that plays with the idea of how the past afffects the present and would love to tell a story that features a parallel story of childhood innocence in a fcuked up situation and the present day story of adults dealing with the repercussions of that childhood.
