i really think we need more books like this
it talks about the spanish expansion into the americas
and how horribly nasty these motherfuckers were...
conquistadoras, my ass
i think we only look at history from the perspective of the winners
but this book also highlights an expedition that was a failure from the beginning to end
and so... for those of us who ask... how could a handful of bastards just take over an entire continent
i think it shows that the progression was not as simple/straightforward as we now think

but... my heart wept for the americans.
they had no chance when they encountered these brutal sorry excuses for humanity
