Turkey was not part of Mesopotamia, with the possible exception of some small parts of SE Turkey that might be within the Tigris/Euphrates region that traditionally defines Mesopotamia. And anyway, Turks as they exist today weren't anywhere near Turkeyy as we know it today at that time.

It was however part of greater Greece, and subsequently the Roman empire, including Constantinople (which is European by geography but certainly part of Turkey) as its capital, and subsequently the Byzantine Emperor (also Christian, with Constantinople as its capital).

Turks only migrated west from central Asia into the Anatolian province starting around 1,0000 years ago.

Meanwhile Armenians have maintained the same geographic & cultural identity for 2,000 years or more, and have been largely Christian for most of that time. (The Christian thing is only added since you use Muslim as an identifier for a reason to consider Turkey to be Asian.)

This is not to say that you're wrong that Turks are Asian (or even that Armenians are also Asian) but geography and culture/ethnic/religous makeup do not always line up the same way.
