Kay Gee laced the beat. Treach still got it. No bars for Vinnie though
12959636, I am quite alright with no bars from Vinnie

Why did they choose to remake the Common / Dilla "Love Is" collab?

12959579, Oh shit. I liked the beat immediately but didn't pick up on that.

Good catch.

I don't understand your beef though? You act like this is the first time a sample has been flipped more than once in hip-hop. I just thought of 2,461,119 other examples in the time it took me to type "hip-hop"
12959591, Nah...it doesn't matter but

Can you imagine if they dropped this in 2005 and Dilla produced it?

Naughty would catapult to everyone's favorite group of all-time.
12959593, It was more of an observation and question than a beef...

But since you asked, I wasn't pointing out that the same Marvin Gaye sample was flipped. I agree with you that that happens all the time in hip hop, but that's actually not what happened here.

Dilla basically made a new song, complete with some noticeably unique elements (chopped up Gaye vocals, new chord progressions, in-the-pocket drums). Naughty's track copied ALL of that. Even the titles are similar ("God Is Us" vs. "Love Is"). No, that's not normal - especially for folks *from* the culture.

Do I have a problem with it? Nope. Treach is a natural, and it really shows here. Glad to hear him again. That said, I think I asked a fair question.
