12953387, anyone in a marriage your friends/family said wouldnt last? Posted by seasoned vet, Thu Jan-07-16 04:30 PM
and still going strong? how do you feel about what they had to say? was it judgemental or sound advice? do you feel differently about the people who said it now? are you spiteful about how it turned out? or bitter about what they almost sabotaged?

they have been married for like 17 years! listen ABSOLUTELY NO ONE THOUGHT IT WOULD LAST not his friends not her friends not their families NO ONE. and we all had reasons like dude was prolly cheating up until his wedding day but it lasted and that's dope i dont mind being wrong.

The criticism was fair tho. She was 17, he was 31 and friends with her mother(my grandmother) and he knocked her up.

12953424, Not me of course, but one of my best friends married his girl of 13 years Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Jan-07-16 05:08 PM
last year.
Thing is, they got together in the first week of his Junior year in High School, and her First week of being a damn Freshman in College.
At the Wedding, his mom even said it during the toast..."when y'all first got together, I remember telling y'all that it wouldn't last more than six months...because I work with students, and I always see how young couples are."
For me personally, I never thought of it in the way that older folks did, but I just knew it would be tough as hell with her being in college, being hollered at by legit adult men with careers and cars, while he still had a curfew and a learner's permit.
