So we got an awesome deal on a flight into Sao Paulo and out of Rio, $440 round trip per person.

We have 19 days to split between the two places OR we can split them between three places, sandwiching Buenos Aires between them. We both want to go there and had considered just visiting there when we had a little less time.

The trip from SP to BA to Rio adds considerable expense to the trip. $575 each for the round trip tickets, plus another round trip to/from an airport, so basically we are talking $1200 tacked onto the trip to go to BA for about six days.

However if we took the trip separately it would cost us as least $2000 and a lot more travel time (this is a 2hr45min flight as opposed to minimum 10 hours each way otherwise). The advantage would be that we'd have more than five or six days to spend there and maybe go to Patagonia and other places in Argentina.

What would you do? I have the money but I am wondering if it's good use of it or we should just split the time between the two Brazilian cities.

it creates more hustle and bustle, another pack/unpack situation, and the money we spend could go toward living it up in brazil.

that stack could go to ballin in rio/sp over that same 5 day period
or catching a domestic flight somewhere else in brazil like fortaleza
and you could hit BA in a subsequent trip

everybody is telling me that's pressed but i seriously doubt i'll be out there anytime soon after the trip so i gotta make it count

it does seem kinda pressed to me because there is other shit i wanna see in argentina. but as much as i travel, i dunno if i'd want to go in the winter and so that means the next shot is in one year more or less.

i dunno i am torn on this. it's my decision as i'm paying all the bills and making all the arrangements.

i guess i have 24 hours to change my mind but we're both curious so fuck it, why not? i will end up spending my birthday there as it turns out. the tickets also dipped in price slightly (not much) but i took it as a sign haha.

if so make a post about it. i gained a lil interest in BA after seeing Focus and just knowing about it in general but i heard it's iffy for blacks out there
