none of the people you mentioned are out in the current popular culture selling anything really right now... I'm pretty sure if Roman Polanski made a movie and did a press junket, he wouldn't be surprised if the questions went towards his legal issues. That's probably why he wouldn't do press like that..

and maybe R.Kelly shouldn't either if he expects the issue to never be brought up...
