And it wasn't the How I Got Over or Wake Up albums.
It was DYWM. Long story short, I discovered The Roots online after googling "alternative hip hop" because I was so sick of mainstream radio rap stuff. So I kept seeing The Roots' name everywhere under that label and listened to Mellow My Man, and the rest is history.

And can still remember it. fe6982. That will forever be ingrained in my brains for some reason. Changed it in 2008 finally but just think it's funny that I can still recite it that easily. Especially considering I mostly lurked and didn't post here from 2001-2007 or so, despite having an account all those years.

I had Things Fall Apart and saw the okayplayer.com info but didn't check it, but I remember the CD case for The Roots Come Alive had an actual insert separate from the book that was about the website. Started lurking a few weeks after that album dropped in November. Voodoo came out a couple weeks after that, and the rest is history.
