Hotline Bling was definitely the single and was a #1 hit. How does that song not get recognized?

12940264, A grammy matters in a rap battle?
Posted by Cold Truth, Mon Dec-07-15 07:50 PM
Two rappers beefin? Unless one does serious damage to the career of the other, steals his girl, fucks his mom, or some shit like that the only real L is determined by reception of their respective diss records.

Of course, things are a little trickier when we’re dealing with industry rappers.

An L in industry rap is when Rapper A is deeply established on a label that successfully cracked the code of rap and R&B formats in a way that dominates radio and video formats, beefs with Rapper B who signs with another dominant label and steals Rapper A’s entire lane and audience right out the gate.

Rapper B becomes the biggest thing out for a good two-three years, spawns successful group and solo albums for his crew and when he falls off musically starts getting long money with wise investments while Rapper A falls the fuck off a cliff, goes to jail, drops multiple albums that nobody gives two fucks about and winds up on a b-list reality show.
But a grammy?
Nah.
