12916704, Accidental Misogyny

I see this damn commercial every time I watch football.

While it's posture seems to be empowering to women "You say men are superior drivers, BUT _____" it actually seems insulting.

Her brag regarding the quality of her driving is on the basis of receiving her "safe driving check" which only means she hasn't been in an accident for 6 months.

Does Allstate think women are such bad drivers that not running into something with their car for a whole hockey season is an accomplishment? Or is their apparent misogyny here accidental?
12916707, I think you are looking way to deep into it. She got a check. He didn't..

on it's face, it's "women aren't bad at driving, so suck it misogynists!" but on the other hand, afaik women are (or were?) charged less for insurance premiums because it's assumed they won't be doing as much of the driving.

I don't even know if that's actually true

www.engadgethd.com - the other stuff i'm looking at
12916730, they are charged less bc they are less likely to get into accidents

men drive more aggressively per insurance companies.

her smug rests on a weak foundation and a false premise - that men are not superior drivers b/c she got a check from Allstate.

as the fuck if.

the misogyny is there too.
12916733, the way she says silence at the end, too.

i can't imagine the sort of person that would allow their (presumably) SO talk to them like that. drives me nuts.
12916734, i'd get up and leave if i were him.

she'd be stuck w/the bill.

maybe that Allstate check will cover it.
