The Simpsons have eviscerated the ridiculous concept of non-alcoholic beer over the years.

It's basically non alcoholic. It's good. I usually drink it those weekends when I'm at the crib alone and not doing shit or if I have my kid.

12910865, But....why? Posted by Ishwip, Wed Oct-14-15 12:37 PM
I mean, I genuinely like the taste of a good beer, but even then I have to admit a large part of the appeal.....even for a GOOD tasting beer....is the accompanying buzz! If I'm going the non-alcohol route I'd rather just drink soda, juice, or water. __ I don't like the beat anymore because its just a loop. ALC didn't FLIP IT ENOUGH!
Flip it enough? Flip these. Flip off. Go flip some f*cking burgers.(c)Kno

12910881, Hell to the naw. BUT, I am the only dude I know who LOVES Cider Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Wed Oct-14-15 12:58 PM
Redd's, Johnny Appleseed, Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, all those are greatness to me. I always drank apple cider growing up anyway, so it's perfect.

12910886, RE: I don't know why, but I always saw cider as a "girl" drink. Posted by Austin, Wed Oct-14-15 01:01 PM
Nothin' on you or anybody that drinks it. It's irrational, I know.

12910945, Not only do I like ciders, I prefer the sweeter ones Posted by lonesome_d, Wed Oct-14-15 02:18 PM
>Redd's, Johnny Appleseed, Woodchuck, Angry Orchard, all those >are greatness to me. I always drank apple cider growing up >anyway, so it's perfect.
quote-real-unquote hard cider is really dry, almost like a white wine with an appleish flavor and less alcohol. I've done I think three batches of homebrew and they all came out totally dry, 7-10%
So if my understanding is correct, most of the sweet hard ciders (the one you mentioned plus Magner's, Strongbow, etc.) either stop fermentation at the desired balance, or kill off the yeast after fermentation and then 'backsweeten' by adding sugar or unfermented apple juice/cider to it.
There's been a huge expansion in cider on the tails of craft beer's saturation of the marketplace; my favorite beer bar now has a permanent draft cider section... today's list is Big Hill Little Round Hop
Easy Eve Hoppy Cyser Spire Pear Cider de Christian Drouin Pays' d Auger Trabanco Sidra Big Hill Summer Scrumpy Fuchshof German Most Stone and Key Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Cider
They tend to have a balance of the sweet and dry ciders available.

12910935, It's not usually very good, but the Paulaner one is the best of the worst Posted by lonesome_d, Wed Oct-14-15 02:12 PM
http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/124/23697/
it's not great, but probably better than the average macro adjunct lager... at least it's malty.
looks like they have a new hefeweizen/shandy NA as well, would probably be better: http://www.paulaner.us/en-US/products/weizen-radler-non-alcoholic
we usually had some on hand during the pregnancies.
