but an event calling for all Black folks to organize together would have been more powerful and sustainable. The rejection of patriarchy and heterosexism back in 1995 would've led to real unity and pushed our freedom struggle further along. I'm not sure why that's so difficult for you to understand.

We needed more than just a symbol back in 1995, and even more so today. I don't care about your feelings or memories. I care about organizing our people towards real freedom, rather than constantly recalling some moment from history when we "felt" unified.
