12907532, they are trying to reduce the amount of passholders and not lose revenue Posted by RobOne4, Tue Oct-06-15 10:16 AM
ticket prices used to remain steady for 5-7 years. Ever since they introduced the season pass the park has been crowded. Much more than before. I dont think they anticipated the amount of locals who would go to the parks so often. People showing up to ride 2 or 3 rides then leaving. Or showing up in the evening and watching the fireworks or Fantasmic. They also didnt expect those same pass holders to NOT spend any money in the park. They show up after dinner and dont eat in the park. They dont buy souvenirs. They just fill the place up. Over crowding has been an issue since the passes were introduced. So every year over the last few years they have increased single ticket prices and season ticket prices. Recently they phased out the So Cal season ticket pass which was the cheapest option. They will definitely sell less season passes. But the price has increased so much they wont lose that much money. The people who didnt renew their passes will now buy single day passes or two and three day passes. Either way Disney wins.

12907583, Yes Posted by handle, Tue Oct-06-15 11:12 AM
I haven't been in many years but my relatives went a few months ago and they said it was 4th of July type packed on a random day in May. Like no room to walk a straight line anywhere in the park packed.

12907634, during the day it isnt so bad Posted by RobOne4, Tue Oct-06-15 11:55 AM
but once the sun sets it gets insane. All the best rides lines double. The main walk ways are clogged. Passholders showing up just for fireworks and shows are taking all the good seats. Then it dies down again around 10pm. Its nuts.

12907567, That's so unwarranted for Disneyland. Posted by Starbaby Jones, Tue Oct-06-15 10:56 AM
DW people get 6 parks and we only get 2 smaller parks, while costing more. Ish is crazy to me.

12907636, but Disneyland has almost as many rides as the 6 DW parks Posted by RobOne4, Tue Oct-06-15 11:56 AM
DW just has a lot more real estate

12907640, They're not as well developed. Posted by Starbaby Jones, Tue Oct-06-15 12:02 PM
For instance, Tower of Terror at Disneyland is much shorter than it is at Disneyworld. Plus, with the new Avatar stuff and Toy Story land DW is going to have Disneyland easily beat, even with the Star Wars Addition. Plus DW is just a much more immersive experience. DL gets old real fast. There's just much more to do at DW b/c of the extra real estate.
