clearly, big kuntry is not using the word nigga as in insult.

it seems, he's successfully re-appropriated its use.

he's trying to call big kuntry a hypocrite. the poster claims it's impossible to love your people, while using nigga.

he also thinks that if big kuntry has the wherewithal to seek respect for bulldaggers, he should also probably respect himself a little more.

I even used to be the type of nigga that refused to use 'bitch', out of respect for all our sisters.

my decision to stop refusing the word bitch was based largely on the fact that I'd met, fell in love, and had a relationship with a text-book bitch. I was surprised to find out they actually existed. but at that point there was no denying that they exist. and sponge label is apt.

even more interesting is that if a woman confronted me on the use of the word, I'd immediately backtrack.

bitch is theirs to police.

nigga is mine.

But good looks admitting the common usage is not defensible

"Nigger/Nigga" is just its latest iteration. Ive noticed a trend of black people using nigga in a self-loathing way (nigga shit, niggerish etc) and that bothers me. Nigga isn't something to be ashamed of. HOW its used is a bigger issue to me.

and those aren't the same words. It isn't a matter of definition, it's a matter of appropriation. A word that is used as a negative by one group of people with an aligned mentality being simultaneously used by the target group of people as a positive doesn't remove either connotation from said word.
An original word that has an original meaning still maintains its meaning, but when used in another culture in another manner and spelling, it becomes another word entirely.

We are the only culture/race that adopts an insult, an unwelcome branding to become our term of endearment. Special Needs children keep a united front on not using the word "retard". There are many other groups(yes, I am sure that there are some exceptions within) who seem united on not using their offensive terms as a positive term. (Chinks, Spics, etc)

I wont lie, I still and have for a long time taken in entertainment with that word used but made a conscious decision to not use it anymore because it give outsiders a claim to it. (Hulk Hogan, Paula Deen, all the way to young white kids listening to 50 cent). How can you use a sperate set of terms for a group in front of some of your friends that you cant in front of another(possibly your white friends)? Or not allow those friends to use it if you use it in front of them?

I think the defense of it is silly, but I cant stop people from using it, or thinking that its a word of strength and rebellion, when white southern people have used it for years as referencing people who are barely fit to be in the same room with them.

I don't think brothers of African descent who come from other countries are nearly as eager to limit themselves.
I can't completely divest from niggadom myself, but I sure as hell want to make sure my son is a bit more worldly.

For the most part, you are just identifying with the conditions you were born into. But what if you weren't born into those same conditions? What if your conditions have changed? Do you have to carry this with you everywhere you go? Do you really walk around worrying what white people think all the time? Do you feel threatened by Black people who don't view themselves as niggas? I mean that's definitely how your response comes across. Sometimes it just seems like unnecessary baggage. It's not that difficult to have cultural pride without feeling like a nigga.

i don't think it's simply a condition. being a nigga is an established set of attitudes that pilot a black body (born from the americas), specifically.
