There are trash songs and okay songs.
Nothing that I would even give my stamp of approval by saying it's dope.
It sounds like exactly what it is. A talented guy who's no longer connected to the
music he's making. This landed on me much like most of the work Prince has done
since the mid 90s. There are good things about it, but it's not necessarily good overall.
(i.e. the nice synth and drums in the chorus of "Genocide")
The talent is there without the inspiration.
Even the better songs sound like build-ups to a climax that never comes.
It's not terrible, but, sadly, it's disposable.
The closest I came to feeling something was the concept of "Animals" and the "don't
come around here calling us animals when you don't understand us" sentiment
