12855405, New YG track: "Twist my fingaz"
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Jul-16-15 11:15 AM
"I'm the only one that made it out the West without Dre"

Produced by Terrace Martin. Flips the bassline from "Bop Gun/One nation under a groove" on it.

It might be too West Coast to be a major hit, and that's all good with me. Might even be too West for my HBCU/transplants here, but they gon have to deal with that shit cuh/blood

There aren't many other ways to sample that song. Just leave it alone at this point.

But...

Really sounds like some throwback shit. Not really doing anything new here or improving on the past.
12855749, To be fair, YG/Mustard pushed the limits a whole lot recently
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Thu Jul-16-15 02:34 PM
Mustard's whole sound of course, and YG was basically a co-producer for it all. Nothing wrong with taking it back on a throwback tip
12855984, RE: To be fair, YG/Mustard pushed the limits a whole lot recently

Nothing wrong at all.

Better than West Coast rappers rapping on trap & east coast beats like the whole 2000s.
12856029, Part of why i like them more than other crews
Posted by Heinz, Thu Jul-16-15 07:01 PM
It feels like the West. I dont get why everyone bugs out when you see East Coast or actually anyone doing some 90s New York rap but dont wanna hear 90s West shit. I want more artists doing shit like this.

12857717, So I'm hearing YG's album won't have anything from Mustard on it
Posted by -DJ R-Tistic-, Mon Jul-20-15 11:17 AM
Mustard's supposed to drop a mixtape this week, Thursday, and then an album later in the year. I'm hearing YG won't have anything from Mustard on his next album, but that they'll reunite for the album afterwards.
